Jay Hanke, CTO Mankato Networks LLC
A founding member of Mankato Networks, Mr. Hanke leads the IP consulting practice within Mankato Networks. Previously, he led the Data Engineering group at Midwest Wireless. After building one of the largest Wireless Internet Service Providers in the US, Mr. Hanke deployed 1xRTT Packet Data and EvDO system on shared IP/MPLS platform. After the migration of the Midwest Wireless packet networks to Alltel, Mr. Hanke deployed a web optimization and content filtering system on the Alltel core data network providing services for over 11 million customers across the United States. He currently holds a CCIE in Routing and Switching from Cisco Systems among other certifications.
Mike Hemphill - VP Sales FWR Communication Networks
Mike has over 40-years of experience in the Telecommunications industry. He began his career with AT&T Long Lines as a Technician working on the long distance network & private line test boards. He spent the majority of his AT&T career in sales with AT&T.
Mike took an early retirement package in 1999.
He spent 5-years with KMC Telecom, a CLEC in the Twin Cities. There he honed his fiber optic & local network services skills.
For the past 4 plus years he has been with FWR Communication Networks. FWR has a dark fiber network along I-94 from the 511 Building in downtown Minneapolis to Hudson Wisconsin. They also have a 10,000 square foot collocation facility in the 511 Building. The “Minnesota Gateway” is the Network Exchange Point for Minnesota and is the most connected suite in the most connected Building in the State of Minnesota.
Phil Mitchell, Senior Sales Engineer-Carrier Group
Phil has been employed in telecommunications since the middle 1970’s. He has designed wired and optical networks for over 30 years. Phil has developed distributed computing systems while working for Control Data Corporation. He authored real estate database management software while developing operating systems in the Multiple Listings Service industry. Phil has designed optical SCADA networks for the oil industry, designed and implemented optical communication networks for the telecommunications industry and security networks for the financial services industry. Phil currently holds CCIE and CCSA certifications from Checkpoint Software as well as FCNSP from Fortinet Systems.
